If your goal is to spend as little as possible, the cheapest route is simple: take the AREX All-Stop Train to Seoul Station and transfer to Subway Line 4 for Myeongdong.

But the absolute cheapest route is not always the most comfortable. If you have a large suitcase, the transfer at Seoul Station can feel much harder after a long flight.

Best Budget Hybrid: AREX + Short Taxi Ride

A very practical compromise is to use public transportation for the expensive long-distance part, then take a taxi only for the final few kilometers.

The important thing to know is that AREX does not go directly to Myeongdong. Both the All-Stop Train and the Express Train take you to Seoul Station, and from there you continue to Myeongdong.

The Express Train is faster and more comfortable, with reserved seating and a direct run to Seoul Station. The official AREX service describes the express ride between Seoul Station and Incheon Airport as taking about 43 minutes.

But for travelers heading to Myeongdong, the Express Train is not automatically the best value. You still need to continue from Seoul Station, so the All-Stop Train is often the better choice if saving money matters.

Option 2 — Airport Limousine Bus

If you have a large suitcase and want to avoid transferring at Seoul Station, the airport limousine bus is one of the easiest ways to reach Myeongdong.

For Myeongdong, one of the main routes is Bus 6015. The current fare is ₩17,000 for adults and ₩12,000 for children.

The biggest advantage is luggage. Large suitcases are stored in the luggage compartment under the bus, so you do not have to drag them through subway stations or long transfer corridors.

Terminal 2: How to Buy Your Bus Ticket Step by Step

If you arrive at Incheon Airport Terminal 2, you must buy your Airport Limousine ticket before boarding. Since March 5, 2026, passengers taking Airport Limousine buses from Terminal 2 to downtown Seoul must use the ticket counter or ticket vending machine on Basement 1.

Terminal 1 Is Slightly Different

For routes such as 6015 at Terminal 1, current Airport Limousine guidance allows first-come, first-served boarding with cash, a transportation card, or a physical ticket.

Which 6015 Stop Is Closest to Your Hotel?

Bus 6015 serves several stops around the Myeongdong area, including areas near Lotte Hotel / Ibis Myeongdong, Royal Hotel / Euljiro 1-ga, Myeongdong Station, Hoehyeon Station, and nearby hotels.

This is important because “Myeongdong” covers a larger area than many first-time visitors expect. The best stop depends on your exact hotel.

Budget Hybrid: Airport Bus + Short Taxi

If your hotel is not close to a 6015 stop, you do not need to walk a long distance with heavy luggage. A very comfortable option is to take the airport bus for the long journey and use a taxi only for the final short distance.

The bus costs ₩17,000 per adult. If the final taxi ride is only a short distance, the extra taxi cost can be relatively small compared with taking a taxi all the way from Incheon Airport.

Actual fare can change depending on traffic, waiting time, your exact hotel location, and the taxi type.

When Does a Taxi Start to Make Sense?

For one traveler, a taxi is expensive compared with AREX or the airport bus. But if several people share the fare, the difference becomes much smaller.
